The Director of Intellectual Property at Castillo y Castillo will preside over the Dominican Intellectual Property Association (ADOPI), leading the organization through the ADOPI 360 vision and its 30th anniversary.
We are proud to share that Carimer Guzmán, Director of our Intellectual Property practice, has been appointed President of the Dominican Intellectual Property Association (ADOPI) for the 2026–2028 term.
A track record of excellence and leadership
This appointment reflects a professional career built on legal excellence, leadership, vision, and commitment to strengthening intellectual property in the Dominican Republic.
Throughout her career, Carimer has advised local and international companies on protecting and managing their intellectual property assets, establishing herself as a respected professional in the legal and business communities.
The ‘ADOPI 360’ vision
Her election comes at a significant moment for the association, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027.
During her inaugural address, Carimer invited to reflect on ADOPI´s future with a question that inspires this new chapter: “What kind of ADOPI do we want to build for the next thirty years?”
That reflection gave rise to ADOPI 360, a vision aimed at reinforcing the Association in light of the challenges and opportunities of intellectual property, fostering greater member participation, and promoting institutional relationships.
In presenting this vision, Carimer described it as “a vision that invites us to value what we have achieved, strengthen what has enabled us to grow, and project our Association into the future.”
She also noted that this initiative: “seeks to bring together the talent, ideas, and experience of everyone to amplify the impact of our institution in the years ahead.”
