Castillo y Castillo ensures continuing education of young mothers

As part of its commitment to fostering and supporting education in the Dominican Republic, Dominican law firm Castillo y Castillo has given assistance to the training center “Restaurando por un Mañana” of Fundación Pediátrica por un Mañana (the Pediatric Foundation for Tomorrow).

The center’s goal is to train pregnant adolescents and young mothers -with ages ranging from 11 to 24 years old- to a high school and technical courses level. Fundación Pediátrica por un Mañana, through this unit, endeavors the reintegration into society of these trained youngsters and to improve their quality of life.

Restaurando por un Mañana has a large space for workshops and training sessions but it lacked equipment for its enablement that the foundation couldn´t afford. Castillo y Castillo stepped in and donated chairs to ensure the young mothers can continue to benefit from the opportunities afforded by the Foundation.

Foundation President María Isabel Serulle said “We would like to thank Castillo y Castillo for the chairs in our training centre.  The Foundation greatly appreciates the firm’s generosity.”

“This is an important project,” said Marjorie Leger, PR manager of Castillo y Castillo.  “It is heartbreaking to see girls pregnant at such a young age, mainly as a result of a lack of education and support from within their own families.  We are delighted to support and to be part of an ongoing commitment to improving the lives of young Dominican mothers.”
