The Executive Power of the Dominican Republic appointed Maria Isabel Castillo Baez as the new Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the United States of America. Maria Isabel is the daughter of our Founding Partner Dr. Práxedes Castillo Pérez.
Maria Isabel Castillo Baez has a solid academic and professional background, with more than 20 years of experience in the diplomatic and legal field. She holds a PhD in Law and two Master Degrees from Columbia University: one in International Affairs and Economic Development and the other one in International Law and Intellectual Property. Her academic development also includes studies at Harvard University and La Sorbonne.
Her extensive work experience includes her work as a lawyer in the renowned law firms Castillo y Castillo (Dominican Republic), Ladas & Parry (USA) and González-Calvillo y Forastieri. S.C. (Mexico). In the diplomatic field, she served as Counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Mexico.
María Isabel served since 2020 as Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the United Mexican States, in which mission she stood out for her efficient representation of the Dominican Republic and her achievements in strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.
