The Dominican Republic’s Institutionalism and Justice Foundation (FINJUS) has helped launch http://sil.do to support awareness of the legislative work done in the National Congress by social institutions, business, the media and academia, and promote transparency in the legislature.
SIL.do is an innovative online tool that enables citizens to search for and monitor initiatives that are currently being considered by the Dominican Senate and Chamber of Deputies, and their legislators and committees.
SIL.do was conceived and developed by Eduardo Hernandez Incháustegui, President of SCIL SRL, a firm dedicated to providing online information services on the Dominican legislative process, as well as research and analysis on legislative issues.
Mr. Hernandez Incháustegui explained, “Our mission is to encourage the active participation of citizens in the decision-making processes of the legislative authorities through the power of information, thereby contributing to the development of the democratic process in the Dominican Republic.”
